Ingredients
- 300g beef mince
-
2 tbsp Just Flavour Oriental
- 1 tbsp soy sauce, salt reduced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 cup spring onions, sliced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 30 (275g) gow gee wrappers
Directions
Mix together mince, Just Flavour Oriental, soy, sesame, spring onions and salt until well combined.
Use a teaspoon to measure and scoop mixture onto the wrapper.
Dab some water around the edge of the pastry. Fold the pastry over and use your hands to pleat the seal closed.
Cook in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce or with soup, enjoy!
Recipe Note
🥟 The Seal
Try not to get caught up on perfecting the seal because the shape will change during cooking anyway! To speed up the wrapping process, lay about 10 or so wrappers on your bench. Place the fillings on each wrapper and wrap them all in one go. If pleating is too difficult, you can simply just fold them over to seal.
🥬 Alternatives
You can try different protein or use grated veggies such as carrot, cabbage, bean shoots or beans.
♨️ Cooking Method
We prefer the wontons cooked in water, but you can also shallow fry afterwards for a crispy version!
❄️ Freezing Option
These bad boys can be made in advance and frozen raw. Ensure they are separated with baking paper to prevent sticking. Once frozen, place them into a bag. They can be cooked from frozen, just add 1 - 2 minutes cooking time, enjoy!
