- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 red onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- ¼ cup red wine
- 500g beef mince
- 1 x 400g can tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp JF Italian seasoning
- 250g fettuccine, raw
Heat oil in a pot and sauté onion and garlic for a few minutes. Add wine to deglaze the pot and scrape the sides. This will add flavour!
Add mince and brown for a few minutes. Add tomatoes, paste and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes.
Cook pasta according to packet instructions. Add a splash of olive oil and salt to the pasta water. This will provide flavour and prevent the pasta from sticking.
Once cooked, add pasta to the meat sauce with ¼ cup of pasta water. Mix well, add salt and pepper if required. Serve with parmesan and fresh basil.
TIP: This meat sauce can be used to make Beef Lasagne, nachos, use as meal prep or switch up your protein for a different flavour.
