1. ROOM TEMP
About 30 minutes prior to cooking, bring the steak up to room temp, as this will ensure even cooking 🙌🏽
Seasoning your steak right, is what makes this meal great! We recommend Just Flavour's Everything, Italian or Peri Peri.
Use medium - high heat so the meat seals immediately. Prevent overcrowding the pan as this can reduce temperature and cause the meat to stew = chewy! 🍳
4. TURN ONCE
Don’t mess around with it! Let it sizzle and do it's thing! Unless you like it well done.
The steak, not you 🤣 Personally, this is the MOST important step!!! Rest steak about 5 minutes after cooking, loosely covered in foil.
Well not because the steak is tired 😂 but to retain moisture and FLAVOUR! 👌🏽 keep in mind, the internal temperature will continue cooking as the food cools.
- 250g steak of your choice
- 1 - 2 tsp JF Everything seasoning
- drizzle with olive oil
- Sprinkle one side well with your favourite Just Flavour seasoning, salt and pepper.
Drizzle with olive oil and place seasoned side down in a medium - hot pan or BBQ. Season the other side in the pan, to prevent leaving flavour behind. This will also add flavour to the pan juices to drizzle on top after 👌🏽
- Cook to your liking, here's a quick guide for a 2cm steak:
🥩 RARE: 2 mins each side
🥩 MEDIUM RARE: 3-4 mins each side
🥩 MEDIUM: 4-6 mins each side
🥩 WELL DONE: 2-4 mins each side, reduce heat, cook for a further 4-6 mins
- Rest steak, loosely covered in foil.
